THE Macquarie Uni Sydney Rays family would like to offer their condolences and sympathy to the Ward family and all involved at the Warringah Rugby Club following the death on Saturday of Lachlan Ward.
Lachlan, 25, passed away after a tackle playing for the Rats in a fifth grade match against Gordon at Pittwater Rugby Park on Saturday and was a much-loved member of the Rats tight knit Rugby community.
Lachlan’s brother Sam was a member of the Rays in 2014 and 2015 and in 2016 played for the NSW Country Eagles side that made the final of the National Rugby Championship only to go down to the Perth Spirit.
The stress that events like this put on family and friends should not be underestimated and it’s pleasing to see that the Warringah club, a founding partner club of the Rays, have put a number of protocols in place to help all affected work their way through any issues in the wake of Lachlan’s death.
A good one taken far too early!
